BEAST member Junhyung recently took a group picture with Jay Park.
On September 24th, a picture of Junhyung and Jay with other various famous musicians was uploaded onto an online community board. The picture was originally posted by BEAST’s choreographer, Prepix. On his Twitter, he stated, “A get together after a long time for Chuseok, a weird combination haha  Shinsadong Tiger, The Quiett, Dok2, AOM Crew, Jaebum, Junhyung, me.”
He continued, “It originally was just a quick meet up between me, Tiger, and Junhyung… But we met The Quiett, Dok2, and Jaebum by chance, so went to an alcohol shop and introduced ourselves haha Does this make me a matchmaker? ha.”

Netizens react negatively to Tablo’s tears

We previously reported that a teaser video was recently released for MBC’s special, called, “Tablo Goes to Stanford“. In the show, Tablo sheds tears and expresses his feelings, saying, “It’s not that they don’t believe me. They just don’t want to believe me.”
In response to this, netizens reacted negatively, criticizing him for avoiding the core of the controversy.
“Yu***” said, “Tablo is always like this. When ‘A’ is asked, you are meant to give an answer regarding ‘A’, but he comes up with an answer for ‘B’…he is the lord of giving irrelevant answers.”
“co***” expressed, “If you just reveal your transcript and graduation certificate, wouldn’t the process have been faster? At first I insulted Tablo’s antis, but now I’m starting to doubt Tablo.”

Suju’s Leeteuk refers to news articles written about him and SNSD’s Taeyeon

On this week’s ‘Star King’, Super Junior’s leader, Leeteuk, directly referred to the rumor spreading about him and SNSD’s Taeyeon being in a relationship.
In the episode, a fisherman from Kunsan, Kim Hyun Bong, came on as a contestant for the second time.
When Kim Hyun Bong came on, Leeteuk said, “There were so many articles about you. I got a lot of articles too”, referring to the articles written about the possible relationship between him and Taeyeon.
MC Kang Ho Dong got suspicious and asked, “Celebrities usually try to hide their relationships, but why are you directly referring to it?” Leeteuk simply replied with, “It’s been such a long time since articles were written about me”, making the studio burst into laughter.

The story behind Jo Kwon’s & Ga-in’s casting

With the Adam Couple’s Jo Kwon and Ga-in set to make their acting debuts on November 1st through MBC’s daily sitcom, “Request,” many have been wondering about the story behind their casting.
The two have been receiving cast offers since the beginning of September, but had to reject them due to scheduling conflicts. Although the two stated publicly that they were wrapped up in their singing careers, the internal situation revealed to be quite different. One representative stated, “Since the two are the representative stars of MBC’s ‘We Got Married,’ different broadcasting companies try not to use Jo Kwon and Ga-in in their variety programs. They’re afraid of promoting MBC’s variety program in turn. In reality, it was difficult for Ga-in to perform as a solo singer on music programs other than MBC’s ‘Music Core.’ The two were worried about accepting the sitcom cast offer because they were afraid of being boycotted.”
Jo Kwon and Ga-in’s “We Fell In Love” earned much love and attention in the first half of this year, but performances for the song could not be seen outside of MBC.
Regardless, both have finally decided to show their determination in transforming into actors by accepting the recent casting offer. A representative stated, “After a long deliberation, the two have finally decided to join the cast as cute twins. They have expressed that they would like to concentrate on the sitcom for at least six months.”
The Adam Couple was also previously met with controversy after Ga-in’s appearance on Jo Kwon’s “Family Outing 2.” Reports of MBC being angered with SBS using an MBC “product” surfaced, leading many to wonder whether there was any hidden tension between MBC’s “We Got Married” producers and the Adam Couple. MBC clarified, stating that the “We Got Married” couples were to restrict their appearances on other company shows as a couple.  Still, both the Brown Eyed Girls and 2AM were met with cold treatment when they attempted to appear on MBC’s “Music Core,” assumed to be out of the anger MBC felt for Ga-in’s appearance on SBS’s “Family Outing 2.”
On the other hand, MBC’s “Request” is set to begin filming in October. The sitcom is about two families that live amongst one another, one being poor and nice, and the other being rich and selfish. The Adam Couple will be playing the role of twins from a single mother, who eventually join the family of the rich step-father.

New Drama : Mary Stayed Out All Night (JGS and MGY)

bulan November adalah jadwal airing perdana serial Mary Stayed out All Night, yang akan dibintangi oleh Jang Geun Suk sebagai “hippy-man” Kang Moo Kyul dan Moon Geun Young sebagai si gadis keras kepala Wi Mae Ri.

Kim Hyun Joong memulai debut sebagai leader SS501 di tahun 2005. Kemudian pada 11 Mei 2008 ia bergabung dalam reality show channel televisi MBC yaitu We Got Married. Dalam reality show tersebut ia menjadi suami dari Hwang Bo, penyanyi senior yang lebih tua 6 tahun darinya. Mereka berdua di juluki “Pasangan Sawi” dan berhasil memenangkan penghargaan Pasangan Terbaik dalam MBC Award. Akhirnya pasangan tersebut keluar dari acara itu pada 14 Desember 2008. “Flames of Ambition” reveals Yoo Seung Ho and Seo Woo couple picture

MBC’s new weekend drama, “Flames of Ambition,” has released a new couple picture featuring Seo Woo and Yoo Seung Ho.
With the drama set to air on October 2nd following the conclusion of Kim Soo Ro, the producers revealed the picture of the two leading roles on September 24th.
Seo Woo looked forward to her relationship with Yoo Seung Ho by commenting, “I’m glad to be able to become an acting couple with Yoo Seung Ho. I hope we get closer as we film together more.”

A music program recently held a ‘band special’ episode with bands such as Galaxy Express and Trax. Unfortunately, while Galaxy Express was given the opportunity to present a 100% live stage only through a pre-recording, Trax was forced to merely handsync for their performance.
Jungmo expressed his disappointment, stating, “I told the PD that we can play live too. The only reply we heard was that he knows. We know that a lot of broadcast staff members support and try to help us, but we’ve realized that there’s a limit to everything.”
Vocal Jay agreed, stating, “What we want isn’t things like ranking first on music charts or earning popularity. We just want to be able to present our true selves on a proper stage.” Although Jay is able to sing live, he feels the frustration of his bandmates that aren’t able to.
He went on to confidently reveal, “If bands were able to play live on air, dance singers will never be able to win over us. You can tell just by looking at high school music festivals. Both the dance team and school band may be amateurs but the reaction that the school band earns wins over the dance team by far. The energy that a band gives off is greater than what a dance performance can show.”

Another obstacle also stands in the way of Trax, and that’s the assumption that they’re just another group of ‘guitar playing idols’ manufactured by a larger agency.
Jungmo laughed while answering, “It’s the truth. There are both good and bad points to it but there’s no reason for us to be too held up in it. We realize that true importance lies elsewhere, and I’m sure it’s the same for all of the other bands in the world as well. What’s important is performing music that expresses our own unique color.”
When asked about the meaning of their group in the mainstream market, the two members showed a strong sense of determination regarding their future. They concluded, “We’re going to work hard on our handsync, we’re going to appear on variety programs if they request us, and we’re going to continue making songs. We’re also going to continue requesting music programs to let us perform live. Let’s go till the end and see who wins.”

SHINee’s Onew is a drinker

Idol group SHINee recently revealed the behind story on the after party of SM Town LA’s concert while making an appearance on KBS 2TV’s “Nocturnal.” Unfortunately, MC Onew was unable to join them as he was rehearsing for his musical, leaving Jonghyun, Minho, Key, and Taemin to take his place.
As SHINee began talking about the after party, MCs playfully commented, “If it was a party, people must’ve drank, yes?” SHINee answered, “Over there, only 21 and over can drink so everyone couldn’t except for Onew.”
They went on to reveal, “But Onew drank extremely well on his own. He didn’t need a bottle opener and even showed off unique tricks like opening bottle caps on his own. The rest of us returned to our dorms early but Onew continued to enjoy the party and came home late.”
The boys also hinted at a special fact about SM Town’s chartered plane, revealing that the CEO sat in first class while the rest of the celebrities sat in business. One small group in particular, however, was able to sit up with the CEO.

Hallyu 2.0 has begun

The second wave of the Hallyu boom has erupted this year with the phenomenon first beginning with ‘Yonsama‘ back in 2004. SNSD’s Japanese showcase in Japan was even introduced by the Japanese media as the ’second wave.’
Hallyu 2.0 has made a variety of improvements and seems to be off to a strong start in comparison to the first wave. The first Hallyu generation began with the representative drama, “Winter Sonata.” However, since the end of 2009, the Hallyu wave has expanded to music, musicals, and theater. Over 50% of the reservations made for the musical “Goong” were reported to be composed of foreign fans in support of TVXQ’s Yunho. SNSD has also been met with remarkable success in Japan, selling nearly 45,000 copies of their debut album the first week of its release, currently totalling 63,000.
Then what has changed? The first wave was led by male stars, but the concept has expanded to now include female stars as well. The fanbase has also expanded to include all age groups as opposed to the previous fanbase of women in their 30’s and 40’s.
The Hallyu wave was previously focused on just East Asia, but has now reached out into the world such as Uzbekistan, Turkey, Egypt, and Romania, securing a more diverse fanbase. Traditional Korean dramas such as “Jewel In the Palace” and “Queen Seondeok” have been earning high viewer ratings in Turkey while “Boys Over Flowers” has been achieving success in Egypt. Romania has even recently created a ‘meeting for lovers of Korean culture.’ Nepal has over 30,000 people taking the highly popular Korean skills test yearly, leading to high traffic on the day of the test.
There’s also quite a difference in incomes as well. The golden age of the first Hallyu wave, 2005, earned $1.3 billion from exports until it finally reached a standstill in 2007. Signs of a second wave began to show in 2008 and finally started in 2009, earning $2.7 billion. Many experts are anticipating over $3 billion to be made in 2010.
