Who made it to the Top 8 on Superstar K2?

Yesterday, Mnet’s ‘Superstar K Season 2‘ aired its first live broadcast of the season with their Top 11 contestants.
The show took place on the 17th at 11pm in Seoul’s CJ E&M Center. The challenge given to the contestants this week was to remake a hit song that was released between the years 1960 and 2000.
At the start of the show the online votes ranked the contestants in the following order: 1. Jang Jae In, 2. Kim Ji Soo, 3. Huh Gak, 4. John Park, 5. Kang Seung Yoon, 6. Kim Eun Bi, 7. Andrew Nelson, 8. Kim So Jung, 9. Park Bo Ram, 10. Lee Bo Ram, 11. Kim Geu Rim.
Final scores are determined by the following: 10% on online votes received prior to the broadcast, 30% on the judges’ scores, and the final 60% on viewers’ text votes. The judges’ scores were given to each contestant by panel members Lee Seung Chul, Yoon Jong Shin, and Uhm Jung Hwa – contestants can acquire a maximum total score of 300 points (100 points per judge). The contestant with the highest total score from the judges are given immunity from being eliminated due to online or text votes. On yesterday’s show, Jang Jae In was given immunity with the highest total judge score of 288 points for her confident performance of  the 1979 hit song, “With You“.
After all the scores were tallied, female guitarist Kim Geu Rim and dance vocalists Kim So Jung and Lee Bo Ram were eliminated. That leaves us with John Park, Andrew Nelson, Kim Ji Soo, Park Bo Ram, Kim So Jung, Huh Gak, Kim Eun Bi, and Jang Jae In as the Top 8 contestants on this season’s ‘Superstar K’.

Incorporated into the live broadcast yesterday, viewers also got to watch footage of the contestants’ training prior to the show. During the training process, the contestants were split into gender-based teams and given various missions. One of these missions included a battle between an all-female performance of Taeyang’s “Wedding Dress” and an all-male performance of miss A’s “Bad Girl Good Girl”.
