Recently, Superstar K2 contestant Mike Chun shared a shocking testimony with allkpop about the lack of professionalism and communication between the staff members and contestants, namely those from Los Angeles. Well, nearly a week later, it appears as if Superstar K2 will face yet another complaint, as the season’s winner Huh Gak stated that he has yet to receive the promised prize money and car.
On October 29th, Superstar K2’s top 11 came back together for a special live show called, “Superstar K2 – Special Talk Concert With The 11,” in which the top contestants performed together and chatted about their current situations. However, during the show, the MCs and the other contestants asked Huh Gak if he had received his prize, to which he surprisingly answered, “No.”
He stated, “I was supposed to receive it today, but it still hasn’t been deposited…please give it to me.”
While Huh Gak won 200 million KRW, according to Korea’s tax law, he would have to pay 8.8 million KRW in taxes, thus totaling to 191,200,000 KRW in compensation. In regards to his prize money, he commented, “I will use the prize money towards a house that my father and family can live in together.”
Meanwhile, on the same day, Huh Gak received a letter from his mother, resulting in an emotional moment on the show.
