Unveiling Secret “Shh! We’ll tell you the secret” (Interview)

“We’ll break the stereotype that all girl groups are similar!”
With sparkling eyes, their mysterious charm seeps~. It’s likes something mysterious is there, drawing us in.
Their age average is 20. The four girls that have many secrets. Jun Hyosung, Han Sunhwa, Song Jieun, and Zinger have grouped together under the name ‘Secret’ and made a ‘complete girl group’.
Today (the 15th) 6 o’clock pm Mnet ‘Mcountdown’ is holding the first stage of Secret’s debut single, “I Want You Back”.
Before we met on TV, the piles of the girls veiled secrets were slightly revealed.


§ Secret ①…“We are girls with a past”
From the dispersed group of Wondergirl’s Yoobin and Afterschool’s UEE comes the member Jeon Hyosung, Han Sunhwa was picked out from Superstar Survivor, Song Jieun was a formerly part of JYP with a singing ability and pitch that left positive remarks, to the rapper Zinger who grew up with music. All the girls boast a successful career.
“All of us Secret members are ‘girls with a past’. Before debut, the areas of our experience and skill were honed to form Secret. From visual and vocal, we try to show a performance where everything, one by one, does not slip.” (Song Jieun)
“After “five girls”, it was clear Yoobin unni and UEE unni began activities, and I believed that I would have an opportunity too. So, I worked even harder, and in this manner I met this charming team. “For the future, I will be prepared to show myself as the girl who’s training was not in vain!” (Jeon Hyosung)

§ Secret ②…“Hell-like training, the thought of leaving”

The debut album, their first mini-album, ’3 Years 6 Months’ is actually a song that shows their experience as trainees.
To reach their dreams as singers was a challenge to the girls when they were 16~17 years old. For more than 3 years they received various forms of training from their well-known company as that was the only form of preparation.
After establishing their rigorous training, the team that became known as ‘Secret’ started to wait.
“Practice was in progress, for 3 years, from 8 in the morning till dawn. Really, it was very tiring ‘How can I not go, can we escape somehow’ (in the practice room) and it was in our minds once or twice, but never came to be.” (Han Sunhwa)
“Our legs were especially torn, it really was hell, having to sit and stand 400 times. Stretching excersizes was part of the fundaments to making a pretty good dance. I didn’t want to give up even though I felt like I was dying, the dream of a ‘debut day’ really does come! (laughter)” (Jeon Hyosung)

§ Secret ③…“Our dream is to become the nation’s idol”
Secret does not simply mean a ‘secret’.
Even if you look and look and still want to see them, you become curious again and again about these girls and their weapon of “groundless charm”.
“Having lots secrets means that theres infinite things to show. Like a barbie doll, it’s not too pretty, but we’ll become a groups where you can see our charm. Like the G.O.D seniors, we don’t want to be just for one generation, but ours is to be a ‘national idol’ with music that appeals to everyone!” (Jeon Hyosung)
The large companies glorified girl groups’ works are spreading across but, Secret has only their talent to support them.
’3 large companies received the debut of their girl groups this year but, we have a strong capabitily to be recognized. Throw away the prejudice that ‘girl groups are all similar’, but we would like it if you watched over our debut stage. Today (the 15th) the first secret has been revealed!”
